Many of our patients choose group therapy sessions, either as a replacement or to complement their individual therapy sessions.
Group therapy offers many benefits:
1. It helps you realize you are not alone.
2. It facilitates giving and receiving support.
3. It helps you find your voice.
4. It helps you relate to others (and yourself) in new and healthier ways.
5. It provides a safety net.

ADHD Group TherapyGroup therapy for patients diagnosed with ADHD can be especially effective in developing awareness of both disruptive behaviors and ADHD symptoms.
By focusing on self-awareness of behaviors and symptoms in a group setting, patients are given the opportunity to interact with others, creating a space for shared experience and growth. Parents of children with ADHD will also benefit from group therapy, learning how to support and enable their children towards self-awareness. As well, group therapy creates a space to share experiences with other parents of children with ADHD. |
Anxiety Group TherapyGroup therapy for patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders can complement individualized therapy by adding exposure to social stimuli and interaction with the group.
Group therapy for anxiety disorders provides a safe space for patients to explore all aspects of their anxiety, including causes and triggers. By participating in group therapy, patients with anxiety disorders feel more comfortable and able to normalize symptoms and causes of anxiety, learning from the shared experiences of others. |
Depression Group TherapyGroup therapy for patients experiencing depression allows for a safe space to discuss feelings with others who are sharing similar experiences.
Since one of the most common complaints of patients experiencing depression is isolation, group therapy provides a sense of group and community, minimizing feelings of isolation. Although participants will share a common diagnosis, differing personal experiences shared offer all members of the group a chance to hear different perspectives. |
